Gifts from the heart

The Crusade in Haiti began Sunday night and already many people have dedicated their lives to Christ. The rains were a welcomed surprise Monday night, and the congregation was not deterred but rejoiced in this gift from God. People came wet to hear God’s Word. Pastor Gaeten emailed us encouraged by the excitement for God and talked of his eagerness for us to be a part of the celebration.

Our team travels today to Port au Prince and then tomorrow to join the Crusade in Deyemon at The Torch Haiti Compound. Please be in prayer for safe travels and an awesome move of God.

Packed securely in the luggage is a plague with a picture. I wrapped it personally so that no harm would come to it. It is a picture of a man who is no longer with us but is still helping the children of Haiti. Pastor Ted Ansley asked that in lieu of flowers at his funeral, donations would be made to this mission. Ted loved serving people. His heart was for others. Because of the generous gifts in his memory, the children in our orphanage will receive beds. Some of these children have never had a bed – at least not to call his or her own. A piece of Ted’s heart will be with us always, and the children will know of his deep love for them.

1 Peter 4:10, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”

A Day at Food For The Poor

I had the opportunity to travel to Coconut Creek, Florida to meet with the key leaders for Food For The Poor. It was such a privilege to tour the facility and to hear about all that Food For The Poor is doing to impact God’s Kingdom. All the team at Food For The Poor were open with advise and encouragement in our endeavor to work in Haiti. Be in prayer as we determine how  we can help Food For The Poor and they can help us in Haiti.

June 19th through the 26th we are having a Crusade at the compound in Deyemon. Great preparation is underway for an anticipated 1500 to 2000 people to hear the Word of God. Some of our pastoral staff in Haiti will deliver the message, and we are believing great and mighty things. Please pray for the people to be receptive and for God to speak in and through those delivering the Message.

Our sponsorship program continues to grow daily and children’s lives are being changed. School will be in the next couple of weeks, and we are preparing for a Summer Program. There is great excitement in the teachers and staff at the compound because already they see the changes and the power of God.

Please encourage your friends and family to consider sponsoring a child from The Torch Christian Academy in Haiti. If you are a sponsor and would like to travel to Haiti and meet your child face-to-face, we are in the process of organizing a trip in July. There are a few spots left. Contact our church office. We’d love to talk with you. (706) 778-4063
